“Rebekah and Trent are absolutely amazing dancers and incredible teachers. They deliver an easy-to-follow syllabus in a clear and concise manner and are completely in tune with their students, to ensure that everyone in the class actually gets the moves in a fun and pressure-free way. They provide additional techniques and styling for those who want to extend themselves. We are very fortunate to have such talented dancers available to teach us here in Blenheim. “ - S. Schmidt

INSTRUCTORS

Trent Norman and Rebekah Codlin are Brazilian Zouk Instructors who have enjoyed teaching zouk in Blenheim at Salsa Groove for the past two years. Over their 10+ combined years of dancing zouk, they have learnt from many of the worlds most celebrated zouk instructors including the creators of zouk themselves.

Zouk is both Trent and Rebekah’s favorite pastime, and they are always taking any opportunity to dance it, traveling around NZ and to Australia to zouk parties, events and festivals. They are very keen to develop a local zouk ‘scene’ here in Marlborough so they can share this amazing dance form and enjoy dancing zouk closer to home!

Trent is a Physical Training Instructor in the Royal New Zealand Airforce and brings his wealth of teaching experience into class, providing clear and positive instruction. Starting Zouk with Studio 7 in Auckland 6 yrs ago, Trent also taught classes for them and has performed in group choreographies and as a couple with his dance partners over the years.

Rebekah has danced for most of her life, starting with highland dancing, and then Hip Hop before venturing into the Latin dance scene at age 20. During the day she is a full time visual artist, you may have noticed her large realist portraits around Marlborough. Rebekah also ran a hip hop dance school with her sister in Blenheim, teaching over 80 students of all ages, and also taught guitar for 6 yrs. Her experience teaching in these other creative fields helps her immensely in class.

Trent and Rebekah can’t wait to share their passion for Brazilian Zouk with you, and look forward to seeing you in their class!
